Metallica Reveals Detroit Orion Lineup
Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Deftones and Bassnectar, are among the acts descending on Detroit’s Bell Isle in June for Metallica’s Orion Music + More Festival. The fan club pre-sale starts tomorrow (Feb. 26), the general onsale later this week.
But we’re just brushing the top of the lineup. Also appearing June 8-9 will be Gogol Bordello, Foals, Tomahawk, The Joy Formidable, Death Grips and Detroit bands The Dirtbombs, Death and Battlecross.
And, of course, your hosts for the weekend – Metallica. The thunder gods launched the first Orion Music + More Festival in Atlantic City in June 2012.
“Last year’s Orion Music + More Festival was hands down the highlight of the Metallica calendar. A great time was had by all, especially the band members,” Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said. “The fact that it also resonated with enough of our fans and friends that it warrants another go-around in ’13 is beyond exciting. I can think of no better place than the Motor City, with its rich and diverse history of music, for the second ride on our Orion festival train. Bring it the fuck on!”
A pre-sale for members of Metallica’s Met Club launches Feb. 26 at 10 a.m. EST and runs through Feb. 28 at 10 p.m. The general public onsale starts March 1. Click here for more information.
