MGMT’s Spring Odyssey
Founding members Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser first made each other’s acquaintance more than 10 years ago via a mutual love of mystic paganism. Although the band tours as a five-piece, Van Wyngarden and Goldwasser performed as a duo for a 2012 gig at the Joshua Light Show.
With a new album scheduled for a summer release, MGMT’s first string of 2013 dates has the band traveling in a somewhat westward direction. Beginning in Pennsylvania, MGMT will play shows in New York, Maine and Rhode Island before heading to engagements in Michigan and Minnesota followed by a series of Canada dates taking them to the West Coast.
