Depeche Mode Answers SXSW’s Questions

Depeche Mode will be in Austin next week for the band’s first ever appearance at South by Southwest. With a few weeks to go before the release of their upcoming album, Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy “Fletch” Fletcher have agreed to take part in a special Q&A session.

KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley, who hosts the station’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and the dance music show “Metropolis,” is moderating the discussion. The Q&A is scheduled March 13 at 5 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center.

On the agenda? Along with Depeche Mode’s new album, the band plans to talk about its past, present and future, including its upcoming world tour.

Delta Machine is due out March 26 on Columbia Records. The album was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. A deluxe edition will be available featuring four extra tracks and a 28-page hardcover book with photos by longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn.

The SXSW discussion is open to fans with “music” and “platinum” badges as well as those with “artist wristbands.”

Earlier this week SXSW announced it had snagged an interview and signing with 50 Cent, as well as an interview with Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Both events take place March 16.
