Smash Corporation announced the first batch of artists for this year’s Fuji Rock Festival, which takes place at the Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, July 26-28.
The headliners are Nine Inch Nails July 26 and Bjork July 27, with the headliner on final day to be announced later.
Other artists slated to appear include The xx, Coheed and Cambria, Daughter, Death Grips, DJ Shadow, Flying Lotus, Foals, Fun., Killswitch Engage, Modeselektor, Of Monsters and Men, Rocket From the Crypt, Tame Impala, Toto y Moi and Yo La Tengo.
Not to be outdone, Summer Sonic, which takes place in Tokyo and Osaka the weekend of Aug. 10-11, keeps adding acts on a continuing basis to its lineup.
In addition to Metallica, Muse and Linkin Park which were announced in January, new acts include Cheap Trick, M.I.A., Stereophonics, Alt-J, Pet Shop Boys, Smashing Pumpkins, Cyndi Lauper and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Pet Shop Boys will also appear at Sonic Mania, a new rave that takes place in Tokyo on the eve of Summer Sonic. The Stone Roses will headline the show, which will also feature Steve Aoki and the Klaxons.
