More Depeche Mode At SXSW

Depeche Mode will be doing more than talking about its upcoming album at South by Southwest. The English band has announced that in addition to this week’s announcement about its special Q&A, the guys will also be at the festival to play their first ever SXSW showcase.

With Delta Machine being released March 26 on Columbia Records, this gives Depeche Mode the perfect opportunity to give lucky fans an exclusive preview of the new tunes.

The show, presented by Yahoo!, is set for March 15 at Austin’s Brazos Hall. Austin’s Feathers and Neighbourhood open the show, according to the Austin Chronicle. Depeche Mode takes the stage at 10 p.m., followed by a set from DJ Eric Prydz.

For a spot in the audience at Brazos Hall (its website says standing capacity in the main hall is 900 people), SXSW Platinum and Music badge holders can throw their name in a ticket lottery that began today. For more details visit SXSW.com/ticket-drawings

The Q&A takes place March 13 at 5 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center. KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley, who hosts the station’s “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and the dance music show “Metropolis,” is moderating the discussion, open to fans with Platinum and Music badges as well as folks with artist wristbands.
