Hold On For A New Alabama Shakes Tour

The Athens, Ala., band voted “best new touring artist” by the industry at the Pollstar Awards earlier this year has more places to go and fans to see. Alabama Shakes’ summer North American tour is set for June and July.

The rockers were also nominated for “best new artist” at the Grammys, in addition to nods for “best recording package” for the band’s debut LP, Boys & Girls, and
“best rock performance” for the single “Hold On.”

Released in April 2012, Boys & Girls is now RIAA certified gold. A new set of tunes from frontwoman Britney Howard is due out tomorrow, March 12 via a 7” vinyl single on Third Man Records. Howard and singer/songwriter Ruby Amanfu paired up for a cover of Rodriguez’s “I Wonder” on Side A and their take on “When My Man Comes Home,” originally recorded by Memphis Minnie, on Side B.
