Supafest, Foals Return

50 Cent, Ne-Yo and Akon are headlining the 2013 version of the Supafest urban festival in Australia, which some years ago claimed to be the world’s biggest hip-hop gathering after drawing 90,000 over four shows.

This year it stops at Perth Arena, ANZ Stadium in Sydney (26), Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne and RNA Showgrounds in Brisbane April 25-28.

In 2012, the festival incurred debts of more than $2 million after the loss of Diddy, Missy Elliott and Rick Ross. Its appointed administrator agreed to let it trade itself out of the red.

Secret Sounds brings England’s Foals back for five theatre dates Sept. 22 to Oct. 2. When the act toured in January on the Big Day Out festival, two club sideshows sold out in ten minutes.

Swedish metal band Soilwork will do five club dates Oct. 2-6, Metropolis Touring confirmed.
