Although the TV taping is locked in for April 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, CBS hasn’t yet announced a broadcast date for dick clark production’s ticketed event.   But if the title is any indication, the show will most likely air sometime this summer.

Nevertheless, the Academy of Country Music keeps announcing lineup additions.  This week’s update adds more talent to the show that has already announced appearances by Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Taylor Swift and Ne-Yo.

The idea behind the plan is for McGraw to spotlight “the hottest music of the summer” with proceeds benefiting ACM Lifting Lives, the Academy’s philanthropic arm dedicated to “improving lives through the power of music.”  This includes providing grants to music therapy and music education programs as well as helping members of the country music community who might be facing medical or financial hardships.  Clicke here for more information about the organization.

The event also helps McGraw kick off his own tour.  The country superstar is performing with wife Faith Hill at Las Vegas’ Venetian Resort Hotel Casino April 12-13 and April 26-27 before striking out for a country-crossing adventure beginning the first week of May.  McGraw will also appear at Keith Urban’s fourth annual “We’re All For The Hall” benefit at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena April 16.
