Prince West Coast Tour Officially Confirmed

So, 3rd Eye Girl was right about those Prince dates – the West Coast Tour has officially been confirmed. In addition to the shows we posted online yesterday, additional stops have been added in Portland, Ore., and Denver.

The tour is Prince’s first featuring 3rd Eye Girl, his brand new, all-female backing band. Canadian guitarist Donna Grantis, Danish bassist Ida Nielsen and Kentucky-native drummer Hannah Ford made their national TV debut with Prince earlier this month on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” The Purple One and the Girls performed the classic tune “Bambi” and his newly released tune “Screwdriver.”

We first got word about the routing for Prince’s West Coast Tour via Wednesday night’s podcast on DrFunkenberry.com featuring the members of 3rd Eye Girl. At the time Ford said the tour was “still in the planning process” and as of Thursday’s Pollstar.com post, the dates had not yet been posted to the venues’ websites.

Now, the dates are good to go and tickets are on sale. Two shows are scheduled per night with the first gig at 8 p.m., followed by the 11:30 p.m. set.
