Seven Shot During Rap Show

Seven people were shot and wounded when gunfire rang out during a rap concert at a Chicago nightclub and banquet hall March 21.

Lil’ Mouse and King Samson were slated to perform that evening at Mr. G’s Entertainment Center for a record release party, although it’s unclear whether shots were fired during the show.

Police told the Chicago Tribune hundreds of people were in the venue when a fight broke out just after 1 a.m. Three men pulled out guns and began firing and members of the crowd began running out of the club.

A spokesman for Mr. G’s offered condolences to the shooting victims and said the club was cooperating with an investigation. No arrests have been made in the case, but police said the shooting appeared to have been gang related.

All seven of the shooting victims have reportedly been listed in stable condition at nearby hospitals.
