Lou Reed Can’t Make It

Fans lucky enough to snag tickets to Coachella can forget about seeing Lou Reed perform this year. In addition to canceling his appearances at the festival, the rocker has also called off a handful of gigs scheduled next month in California.

If you visit Reed’s website and click on appearances, you’ll see all of his scheduled dates are simply listed as canceled.

In between his appearances at Coachella in Indio, Calif., April 12 & 19, the former Velvet Underground frontman had booked an April 14 gig in San Francisco at the Warfield Theatre, as well as April 16 at Monterey’s Golden State Theatre and April 17 in Los Angeles at the Orpheum Theatre.

As of the time of this post, the former Velvet Underground frontman hadn’t updated his website, Facebook page or Twitter page with a reason for the cancellations.

According to the Warfield’s Facebook page, Reed’s show at the venue was canceled “due to unavoidable complications. … Refunds are available at point of purchase.”
