Chris Tucker Down Under

Chris Tucker will play Australia for the very first time in his comedy career as the funny man stakes out a June excursion across the continent beginning in Melbourne.

After almost two decades as a high-performance laughter generator, you would think Tucker has already done it all.  But in a couple of months, Tucker will be able toss the land of ’roos and Foster’s from his bucket list.  The seven dates are presented by Frontier Touring.

But then, maybe Tucker just hasn’t had any openings in his calendar for Australia until now.  After all, appearing in flicks such as “The Fifth Element, Jackie Brown and Rush Hour did take up a considerable amount of time.  Tucker’s last film – Silver Linings Playbook – had him appearing with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro.

Here’s what’s facing Tucker once he crosses the equator in June:

June 11 – Melbourne, Plenary Hall
June 13 – Brisbane, Brisbane Conv. & Exhibition Centre
June 14 – Gold Coast, Conrad Jupiters Casino
June 15 – Adelaide, Thebarton Theatre
June 18 – Sydney, Marquee – The Star, Sydney
June 21 – Perth, Challenge Stadium

“People might not know this but I’ve been busy working,” Tucker said.  “I went back to stand-up about six years ago and have been touring for the last few  years in the States and now we’re taking it international.”
