KISS Cannon Injury Lawsuit

KISS fan is suing Live Nation, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Maryland Heights, Mo., and others for negligence, claiming he was injured by flying debris from a cannon used at the band’s concert last August.

The lawsuit, filed by William Mueller Jr., in St. Louis County Circuit Court , claims he was standing at his assigned seat during the Aug. 27 concert when the cannon, used during KISS’ finale, “exploded and with great force launched a metal ratchet tie-down strap” that hit Mueller, according to Courthouse News Service.

Mueller reportedly was undergoing radiation treatment for a rare brain disease prior to the concert, and was in a “weakened and vulnerable state” when he sustained injuries to his groin and upper thigh, the News said.

He is seeking actual and punitive damages.

Also named in the suit are Contemporary Group Acquisition, All Access Staging & Productions and venue GM Leslie Ramsey.  KISS is not named in the complaint.

Live Nation spokeswoman Liz Morentin told Pollstar the company doesn’t comment on pending litigation.
