Ole Miss Arena Plan
The Mississippi State College Board on March 21 approved $6 million toward architect designs for a 10,000-capacity basketball arena, 750-space parking garage and additional facilities to be built at University of Mississippi.
The arena, which will also host concerts and other events, would replace the university’s 9,061-seat Tad Smith Coliseum built more than 45 years ago.
Fundraising has brought in nearly $14 million for the arena, according to the campaign website Forward Together. The overall campaign goal of $150 million also includes enclosing one end zone of the campus’ Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
