Songl Launches Streaming
Songl, a music streaming service set up by Sony Music Entertainment Australia and Universal Music Australia, was launched March 21 into an increasingly overcrowded Australian marketplace.
In the past 12 months, more than a dozen services have entered the market downunder, including Deezer, Rara, Rdio and Spotify. But Songl’s CEO Mark Shaw that the new service is “the premium product in market.”
Aside from tracks and exclusive video content from the majors, Songl’s third partner, major radio network Southern Cross Austereo, allows users to stream its stations.
