Plans are in the works for the Square’s modular stage to be replaced by a larger permanent stage this summer, the Times-Picayune reported. Capacities for concerts in the revamped space will range from 4,500 for a seated show to 7,000 standing. Dressing rooms and other backstage amenities will also be built.
SMG, which manages the Superdome, is in reportedly in talks with the Mandeville-based
Along with the Champions Square updates, the Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District that leases the space has been tasked with developing several vacant properties next to it including a former department store and a food court, the Times-Picayune said.
