Live On Film: Judas Priest, Paul McCartney & Wings
Movie houses will be rocking in May with the release of two concert films: Judas Priest’s “Epitaph” filmed in 2012 and Paul McCartney & Wings’ “Rockshow” which took place back when Gerald Ford was president.
For fans who were unable to score tickets to the last night of Judas Priest’s final world tour, “Epitaph” is the next best thing. Filmed at London’s Hammersmith Apollo in May 2012, the flick features the band performing 23 of its classic songs from all 14 of their albums.
Filmed in HD with a 5.1 Surround Sound audio mix, “Epitaph” premieres May 14 in New York and May 15 in London. Theaters will get the film beginning May 16. Visit JudasPriest.com for more information, including theaters and show dates.

Originally released in 1980, “Rockshow” features the band’s only global tour.
SpectiCast and Eagle Rock Entertainment have partnered to bring the digitally remastered “Rockshow” to the big screen, presenting the film in the United Kingdom on May 15 and in theaters worldwide May 16. The theatrical release also includes a 12-minute pre-recorded interview with McCartney.
But it’s the music that people watch concert films for and “Rockshow” does not disappoint. The flick begins with the tour’s “Venus & Mars Rock Show/Jet” opener and closes with the final encore number “Soily.” In between you get plenty of Wings hits such as “Band On The Run,” “Hi, Hi, Hi,” “Silly Love Songs” and “Let ‘Em In.”
Also included is the special acoustic set that Wings performed in the middle of their concerts and featuring renditions of Beatles songs “I’ve Just Seen A Face,” “Blackbird” and “Yesterday” along with Wings tunes “Picasso’s Last Words” and “Bluebird.” Another highlight of the acoustic set was Wings-man and former Moody Blues member Denny Laine singing Paul Simon’s “Richard Corey.”
