Dave McArtney Dies

Dave McArtney, a founding member of Kiwi bands Hello Sailor and The Pink Flamingos, has died at home in Auckland.

He had been hospitalised for some weeks with an undisclosed illness but was to expected to recover. His song Gutter Black was adopted as the theme song for the 2003 drama series Outrageous Fortune.

McArtney was a tutor at the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand for the past 10 years.
