Autumn Nights With Conor Oberst & Desaparecidos

It doesn’t look like Desaparecidos is going to disappear again any time soon. After reuniting last summer for its first tour in 10 years, Conor Oberst and the gang returned to the road in February and today announced a new batch of U.S. dates.

Earlier this year the post-hardcore band put out its second set of new recordings – a double A-side single featuring “Anonymous” and “The Left is Right.” The tunes, which feature the Desaparecidos’ take on The Occupy Movement and the “hacktivist” group Anonymous, are available to purchase through the band’s website as an instant digital download and a seven-inch single. Both options include a digital booklet (PDF) with lyrics and original art by Zack Nipper. If you’re interested in the vinyl (which comes with an instant MP3 download of the tracks) you’ll watch to snag it now because it won’t be sold on tour.

Along with the Bright Eyes frontman on vocals/guitar, Desaparecidos features bassist/vocalist Landon Hedges, drummer Matt Baum, guitarist Denver Dalley and Ian McElroy on keys. The band formed in 2001 and then split the following year after putting out its debut full-length album, 2002’s Read Music/Speak Spanish.

Oct. 8 – Solana Beach, Calif., Belly Up Tavern
Oct. 9 – Las Vegas, Nev., House Of Blues
