On The Hunt For New Deerhunter Dates

Deerhunter has announced dates for a summer tour to go along with today’s release of its sixth studio album, “Monomania,” on 4AD. The label calls the LP “a perfect nocturnal garage rock album full of the layered and hazy vintage guitar sounds” that define the band.

Well, that makes sense since the album was apparently “recorded in the dead of night” at Brooklyn’s Rare Book Studio. Plus, you can expect Monomania to show off Deerhunter’s “scrappy punk aesthetic.”

Earlier this year Deerhunter’s lineup was updated to include bassist Josh McKay and guitarist Frankie Broyles.

Following an excursion through Europe and appearances at Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC and 80/35 Festival in Des Moines, the band’s summer headline tour begins Aug. 23 in Phoenix.
