Warped Returns

Vans Warped Tour’s return to Australia after 11 years is set for a November/ December run, with Australian promoter AJ Maddah teaming with Warped founder Kevin Lyman.

Maddah confirms the tour will stop in Brisbane (Nov. 29), Coffs Harbour (Nov. 30), Sydney (Dec. 1), Canberra (Dec. 6), Melbourne (Dec. 7) and Adelaide (Dec. 8).

Australian media was looking at the acts in Warped’s South American run in July and August – including The Used, Memphis May Fire, Reel Big Fish, and Black Veil Brides – and speculating how many of those would make the trip.

Maddah said that Warped’s punk DIY essence would be different to that of his five-city hard rock Soundwave festival in March. With a 72-act lineup headlined by Metallica, Linkin Park, and Blink-182, Soundwave proved to be the biggest touring festival of the Australian summer.

Unofficial estimates had it draw 75,252 in Sydney, 60,000 in Melbourne, 45,000 in Brisbane, and 40,000 each in Adelaide and Perth.
