Garrison Starr, Maia Sharp & AG
The old adage about “good things in small packages” really does ring true in regards to this brief journey. Making her major label debut with 1997’s 18 Over Me, Starr released the fan-funded Amateur in 2012. Her “Everything You Are Is Beautiful” was featured in ICE Black Box’s anti-bullying PSA.
Not only did Sharp recently receive the best singer/songwriter CD of 2012 honor from the Indie Acoustic Project for her Change The Ending, but the album’s title track is getting some radio love, receiving spins on SiriusXM’s “The Loft” as well as on several major-market stations across the country. The producer of Edwin McCain’s Mercy Bound, Sharp also produced two tracks on Art Garfunkel’s The Singer album. Her songs have been covered by the Dixie Chicks, Bonnie Raitt, Keb’ Mo’, Terri Clark, Cher, Trisha Yearwood and Lisa Loeb.
If the simple moniker AG doesn’t ring any bells, perhaps you know her better as Adrianne Gonzalez, who is also a member of The Rescues. A painter and music video director as well as a singer/songwriter, her songs have a appeared on several television programs, including “Grey’s Anatomy,” “One Tree Hill” and “Guiding Light.”
