Kayne Ain’t No Celebrity

Kanye West isn’t sure if you know this about him. But, as he puts it, “I’m a terrible, terrible, terrible celebrity.” Actually, he’s the “worst kind of celebrity.” The rapper explained why during last night’s surprise show at Adult Swim’s Upfront party at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom.

He debuted new songs at the event in addition to performing tunes from through his career during an hour-plus set, according to Rolling Stone. The audience at the invite-only show was made up of representatives from the TV and advertising industries.

And of course the appearance included a classic Kanye rant.

It’s nice to know that impending fatherhood hasn’t changed Kayne. He’s still the same loveable guy, always ready to share his feelings with the world. So comforting to know that there are some things you can always count on. As TooFab.com put it – “Kanye West pulled a Kanye West last night.”

So, why is Kanye the worst kind of celebrity?

Singing, speaking and screaming out his thoughts Kanye said, “I ain’t no mother****ing celebrity. I don’t know if ya’ll know this one thing about me – but I’m a terrible, terrible, terrible celebrity.

“I don’t know, I don’t know if you really know this one thing about me. But I’m the worst kind of, worst kind of, worst kind of celebrity, because all I do is make real music. All I do is sit in the studio and make real, real shit. And that’s it. And that’s mother****ing it, that’s mother****ing it.”

Got that? That’s it.

Also, he is really tired of the paparazzi trying to sell his pictures to magazines, bothering him with cameras and their “dumb-ass questions.” Kayne says it’s “throwing me off of my focus and s**t. … I ain’t no mother****ing celebrity. No, no, no, no, no that’s not me.”

Oh, and about this weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live” – Although SNL says Kanye is appearing as the musical guest on the season 38 finale, don’t count on the rapper doing a skit about the paparazzi.

Kayne said, “Somebody asked me, ‘When you do SNL are you going to do a skit about the paparazzi and shit and like humanize yourself?’ I ain’t here to apologize to no mother****ers man, it ain’t about me humanizing myself. At one point did I become un-human where I had to turn myself back? … I ain’t no mother****ing celebrity. I ain’t running for office. I ain’t kissing nobody’s mother****ing babies. I’ll drop your baby and you’ll sue me and shit.”

Finally, Kanye is just trying to inspire people.

“I’m trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be. And I don’t want nobody to ask nothing else of me. Don’t ask nothing else of me. … It’s my ***damn life. It ain’t no mother****ing joke.”
