Rascals Go On Tour

Who would have ever thought that a reunion tour of the original Rascals would include a play?  Probably no one except for E Street guitarist and Rascals über fan Steven Van Zandt.  “The Rascals: Once Upon A Dream” leaves Broadway for the open road beginning May 24 in Florida.

Born out of a Kickstarter project and originally planned as a three-night event, the production described as a “hybrid of a rock ’n’ roll concert and a Broadway show” opened to critical acclaim on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theatre earlier this year.  Featuring original Rascals Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, Dino Danelli and Gene Cornish, the show features the band in concert along with archival footage, narration and film segments.

Written by Van Zandt and his wife Maureen with music by Cavaliere and Brigati, “Once Upon A Dream” is directed by the guitarist/actor/radio host and Marc Brickman.  Brickman also designed the stage, lighting and video.
