Jackson, 30STM Return

Alan Jackson, whose first visit to Australia in 2011 was the fastest-selling country tour in the country’s history, returns in the southern spring.

Promoters Rob Potts Entertainment EdgeChugg Entertainment and Foxtel’s Country Music Channel (CMC) booked him for six dates Sept. 26 to Oct. 5. Two of these include Jackson headlining the CMC Rocks North QLD Festival in Townsville, Queensland, and The Deni Ute Muster in Deniliquin, New South Wales.

Jackson will be joined by Sara Evans and Australia’s Morgan Evans, the latter the reigning CMC New Oz Artist of the Year, with three No. 1 singles and two acclaimed EPs under his belt.

Thirty Seconds To Mars is back for four stadium shows Aug. 10-16 through Frontier Touring Company.  It is the act’s biggest visit downunder, with the two earlier visits in 2007 and 2010 staged in theatres.

Guitar virtuoso Steve Vai, a regular visitor downunder with G3, returns with his own band for six Australian theatre shows July 10-16 and New Zealand stops July 18-20. The shows are through Live Nation.

UK indie folk songstress Laura Marling, already confirmed for Secret Sounds’ Splendour In The Grass festival, does four headlining dates through Heavenly Sounds. These take in appearances in churches in four cities July 23-30.

Electronic whiz kid Robert DeLong  also here for Splendour, will do  two club headliners for Frontier Touring in Melbourne (July 23) and Sydney (July 24).

Canadian singer-songwriter Tim Chaisson is back for a second time opening for Australian guitarist and songwriter Diesel  The 19 club shows May 17 to June 16 includes two sets at the National Celtic Festival in June 9-10.
