Bowie Bassist Bolder Dies
Trevor Bolder, 62, the bass player for David Bowie’s Spiders from Mars and Uriah Heep died May 21 after a long fight with pancreatic cancer.
Bolder grew up in Yorkshire, England, and got his big break with the Spiders from Mars in 1971 when he replaced Tony Visconti on bass. He performed on four of Bowie’s albums – Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, Aladdin Sane, and Pin Ups.

He joined Uriah Heep in 1976, left in 1981 to play with Wishbone Ash, then returned to Uriah Heep in 1983, performing with the band through present day.
