Ca. Ticket Bill Advances

A bill that would penalize those who use bot software to swamp online box offices and snatch up tickets is winding its way through the California legislature.

Assembly Bill 329 was approved by the State Assembly 65-0 May 23 and is headed to the Senate.

The measure has gone through a couple of changes since Assemblyman Richard Pan wrote it, however.

The bill originally included a provision that would have allowed transfers of paperless tickets between friends or family members. That provision was deleted.
