Herbert Grönemeyer In The U.S.A.

Germany’s best-selling rock artist ever is playing his first full U.S. tour beginning in September.  Supporting his new English-speaking album, I Walk, stops for Herbert Grönemeyer include Atlanta, New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The time is right for America to become better acquainted with Grönemeyer.  Having already sold more than 18 million albums, we definitely have some catching up to do.  I Walk features guest appearances by Bono as well as Antony Hegarty of Antony & The Johnsons and was featured on NPR Weekend Edition under the title “The ‘German Bruce Springsteen’ Tackles English-Language Rock.”

Grönemeyer’s PBS live concert special airing throughout June should help you know him better.  Especially since Grönemeyer and Bono sing an English version of his biggest hit, “Mensch,” as well as U2’s “Stuck In A Moment.”

But you already might know Grönemeyer, not as a musician but as an actor.  He appeared in the war flick “Das Boot” as well as Anton Corbijn’s film about Joy Division titled “Control.”

And come September you can see him live on stage.  Here are the dates.
