She won best Pacifica female artist, best Pacifica urban artist, best Pacifica album (Treble & Reverb) best Pacifica song (“Wake Up”) and best Pacifica video (“Lorena Bobbit”) – as well as the NZ On Air radio airplay award for the platinum-selling “Wake Up.”
Treble & Reverb was released in New Zealand in November 2012, after a four-year hiatus, and was released in the United States through Republic Records.
The May 30 event at Vodafone Events Centre also saw wins by Swiss (best Pacific male artist and best Pacifica artist in a public vote), Tomorrow People (best Pacifica group) Cilla (most promising Pacifica act) while jazz singer Mavis Rivers got a lifetime achievement award.
Nineties girl group Ma-V-Elle made a surprise performance, marking its first show together in 14 years before recording new material.
