Double Wins For Duo

The best album and best single wins at the New Zealand Country Music Awards went to Christchurch duo Delaney Davidson and Marlon Williams.

Their album, Sad But True – The Secret History of Country Music Songwriting Vol. 1, was described as a “brilliantly executed take on a classic American art form which was a real joy to listen to.”

Solo act Davidson and Williams of the band The Unfaithful Ways teamed up for the record.

The single “Bloodletter” beat Jess Shanks’ “Wait Out The Winter” and Rob Joass’ “Baggage.”

The awards ceremomy, organised by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand and the Australasian Performing Right Association, was in the town of Gore May 30 as part of the Gold Guitar festival.
