APRA Honours The Seekers

The Seekers will receive this year’s Australasian Performing Right Association’s Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Services to Australian Music.

The honor will be bestowed on them at the June 17 APRA Awards at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The Seekers were the first Australian band to have international success with “Georgy Girl,” “A World Of Our Own” and “The Carnival Is Over” and have the record for the biggest crowd in the southern hemisphere, drawing 200,000 to the Myer Music Bowl in their hometown Melbourne.
