Blige Sued Over Canceled Concert

Mary J. Blige is headed to court over a canceled Dallas concert last year.

Promoter Vision Entertainment Worldwide claims Blige was paid a $145,000 deposit but failed to return the funds when she canceled just days before the Dec. 9 date, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

VEW’s breach of contract suit also provides a reason for the cancellation, alleging Blige skipped out on the show in order to perform with The Rolling Stones for the kickoff of the band’s 50th anniversary tour at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., Dec. 8.

A representative for Blige has denied the charges.

In other Mary J. Blige news, tonight’s show at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium has been called off. The lineup for the June 19 event also included Kem, Bridget Kelly and comedian Jay Lamont.

An announcement on the venue’s Facebook page from Heritage Entertainment & Fresh Ideas didn’t give a reason for the cancellation.

Refunds are available at the point of purchase. Fans who bought tickets at the box office can receive refunds Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
