Hosted by the Arena Football League’s Philadelphia Soul, the Summer Slam takes place on the beach  Aug. 24 between Wildwood’s Schellenger and Spencer avenues.  While the event is free, you will need a ticket to enter the concert area.

That’s where alternative rock station WJSE comes in.  The station will release details through its Facebook page about how you can obtain free tickets.  A limited number of tickets will be available for Philadelphia Soul season ticket holders during a “pre-sale” with the leftover freebies distributed to the public beginning June 29.

“Summer Slam has always been a great event,” Philadelphia Soul VP/COO John Adams said.  “Partnering with WJSE takes Soul Summer Slam to another level and will prove to be an amazing end-of-season event for our fans, while introducing the Soul to new potential fans.”

Despite all the band talk, Summer Slam isn’t just music.  The event will also feature a silent auction table with autographed items from the Philadelphia Soul along with goodies from other Philly sports teams.  In addition to all that high-stakes bidding, you can also snag your favorite piece of Soul memorabilia via the event’s Merchandise Blowout Sale.  Plus, you just might find yourself rubbing shoulders with Soul players, coaches, the cheer-leading Soulmates or the team mascot who is appropriately named “Soulman.”

But you’ll need a free ticket to get into the free event.  For more info, click here for the WJSE Facebook page and here for the Philadelphia Soul website.
