Big Boi Reschedules ‘Shoes For Running’ Dates
His injury occurred May 26 during the “Summer Camp Music Festival” in Chillicothe, Ill. A few days later Big Boi told fans he had undergone knee surgery to fix his torn patella and that he’d need to take six weeks off to recover.
Since then, Big Boi has been keeping fans up to date on his progress by posting photos – hashtagged “roadtorecovery” – on his social media accounts including the rapper hanging out in the garden (“getting stronger”) and attending physical therapy.
The postponed schedule included more than a dozen U.S. headline shows, originally slotted for late May and June. So far, Big Boi has rescheduled a handful of gigs, in addition to adding gigs in Brooklyn and Asheville, N.C.
At least one more date is being confirmed. A representative for the Brooklyn Arts Center in Wilmington, N.C., told Pollstar that although a new date hadn’t been locked down, the venue planned to book the rapper during the last week of September.
