LN Opens Austria Office

With the launch of Ticketmaster.at in Austria June 24, the Live Nation owned ticketing giant now operates in two German-language markets and 19 countries total.

“This expansion into Austria is part of our strategic vision to expand our global footprint, bringing the most comprehensive ticketing products and world-class service to even more venue clients and fans,” said Live Nation President and CEO Michael Rapino.

Ticketmaster International President Mark Yovich said Austria “boasts the highest number of visits to live events per capita of any European country,” with “more than 36 million tourists visiting every year.” The first tickets sold on the Austrian platform were for André Heller’s “Afrika! Afrika!” production in Vienna, where the TM office is based.

Ticketmaster opened shop in Germany in 2011. The Austria launch comes just weeks after Live Nation’s court victory against German ticketer CTS Eventim, with which the promoter had contracted before merging with Ticketmaster.
