Set for Aug. 16-18 weekend, the event will feature music artists performing at venues throughout the island with Atkins rocking the entire shebang at the Jekyll Island Convention Center Aug. 19.

With opening act Rose Falcon performing at 4 p.m., Atkins will take the stage at 5 p.m. Why so early? While no official reason has been given, the early show time was probably influenced by the fireworks display scheduled for 9:30 p.m.

Acts scheduled to perform include The Carolina Breakers Aug. 16; Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean Aug. 17 and Nashville newcomers Cole Taylor and Marjory Lee playing the Sunday afternoon beach party.

Along with musical performances taking place throughout the island, there will be a two-day military appreciation festival at Great Dunes Park featuring military-specific vendors along with games and activities for families.  Admission to the festival will be free for active duty, reservists, retirees and National Guard members.

Tickets go on sale July 1 at 9 p.m.  Only a limited number of tickets will be sold.  Check out RodneyAtkins.com for more information.
