Performing under the banner “Laura Jane Grace Sings The Transgender Dysphoria Blues,” the tour will feature Grace performing acoustic versions of Against Me!’s upcoming album called (you guessed it) Transgender Dysphoria Blues.

The title is certainly appropriate.  Born Thomas James Gabel, in 2012 Grace announced she was a transgender.  The singer is currently undergoing medical transition.

Grace’s tour will take place before Against Me! plays September Riot Fest gigs in Chicago and Denver.

Here’s the routing:

Aug. 10 – Philadelphia, Pa., Milkboy
Aug. 11 – Boston, Mass., Brighton Music Hall
Aug. 13 – Providence, R.I., Fete Lounge
Aug. 14 – Washington, D.C., Rock And Roll Hotel
Aug. 15 – Brooklyn, N.Y., Knitting Factory Brooklyn
Aug. 16 – New York, N.Y., Bowery Ballroom

Tickets go on sale July 12.  To learn more about the tour as well as how you can snag a download link to stripped-down acoustic versions of two full-band songs from the upcoming album, just click here.  You can also obtain the songs on a 7-inch called True Trans that will be available at the upcoming shows.
