ARISE Music Festival Coming To Colorado

August in Colorado is heating up with a new eco-friendly festival slated to feature Michael Franti and Spearhead, Xavier Rudd, Keller And The Keels, and Zap Mama.

– which stands for Activate, Reconnect, Interact, Synchronize and Empower – will also have electronic artists such as Michal Menert, Random Rab, David Starfire, and Desert Dwellers, as well as Greensky Bluegrass, Toubab Krewe, The Motet, Chali 2Na and Nahko & Medicine For The People.

But the festival is about more than music and will include art, independent films, workshops, theme camps and environmental speakers during its inaugural Aug. 14-18 event at Sunrise Ranch in Loveland, Colo. All passes include on-site camping.

Presenters Julia Butterfly Hill, Daryl Hannah, and Leilani Münter will be on hand to discuss topics including conservation, biofuels and energy alternatives, and sustainability.

The fest is walking the walk when it comes to greening efforts, featuring local, organic vendors along with recycled paper and soy-based inks for all its printed materials. ARISE is also partnering with the Colorado-based Zero Hero to recycle and compost waste from the event.

Full weekend passes are $195 and information regarding upgraded VIP camping and VIP tickets, Friday/Saturday and Saturday-only passes can be found on the ARISE website.
