Moshtix Agency Sold To Managers
As part of a strategy to focus on its core business of broadcast and publishing, Rupert Murdoch’s News Ltd. sold its Australia-based Moshtix ticketing business and is winding down its 3-year old reserved seating business, Foxtix.
Moshtix was sold to chief executive Harley Evans and business partner Vanessa Bond.
It is not known what staff changes, if any, will be made.
News Ltd. chief financial officer Stephen Rue told one media outlet, “Harley and the team have done a sterling job in building Moshtix – it really is a terrific business.”
Moshtix was founded in 2003 and works some of the biggest Australian festivals including Splendour In The Grass, Groovin The Moo and Good Vibrations. UK-born Evans took over from founding chief executive Adam McArthur last year. He previously worked at concert and theatrical promoter the Dainty Group, Ticketek and the Fulham Football Club in the UK.
