Roskilde’s Dream City

Even a festival with Roskilde’s heritage and track record needs to continually find new attractions and the huge Danish fest isn’t slow to explore the possibilities.

This year fans were invited to turn up a week early to set up “Dream City,” part of the camping area where they can help create their own settlement, complete with its own city hall, post office and bicycle repair shop.

The festival was sold out with crowds of 80,000 per day to see a lineup headed by Rihanna, Metallica, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Slipknot. The other acts helping to create dreamland in Roskilde July 4-7 included The National, Kraftwerk, Sigur Ros, Volbeat,Airbourne, and Roskilde.
