L.A. Live’s New Eateries

AEG is making room for the new at L.A. Live with the addition of three restaurants in the 24,000-foot-space formerly occupied by the ESPN Zone sports bar.

Tom’s Urban 24, Smashburger and Live Basil Pizza – all Denver-based eateries – could give the entertainment district a little more flexibility when it comes to late-night dining options.

Tom’s Urban 24 serves urban cuisine and cocktails and, as the name implies, is open 24 hours at its Denver location.

Smashburger is a fast casual burger joint and Live Basil Pizza serves fresh-baked Neapolitan pizza.

AEG VP of real estate development Ted Tanner explained the restaurants will provide new dining options following events at surrounding venues.

“As the mix of visitors to L.A. Live continues to include more and more guests attending conventions and other downtown events, these new restaurants will be welcome additions to L.A. Live and South Park,” he said in a statement. The restaurants are scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2013.
