Riot Fest Adds Pixies, Joan Jett & More

With a lineup that already boasted “a slew of killer bands from every era,” such as one of The Replacements’ first shows since 1991, Fall Out Boy, Blink-182, Violent Femmes, Rancid, AFI, Sublime With Rome, and Blondie, it was hard to imagine adding any more acts to the mix.

But organizers have announced a number of new bands to help round out the Sept. 13-15 roster at Chicago’s Humboldt Park including Pixies, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Suicidal Tendencies, Andrew W.K., Hatebreed, T.S.O.L., Off With Their Heads, The Flatliners, Hostage Calm, The Interrupters, New Beat Fund, and Pet Symmetry.

That’s in addition to previously announced artists Public Enemy, Brand New, Guided By Voices,Dinosaur Jr. and many more.

Motörhead, Bad Brains, and Attack Attack! have canceled appearances at this year’s event.

Aside from all the music, Riot Fest also features a rock ’n roll carnival with a Ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, fire eaters, Lucha Libre and other attractions.

Three-day passes for the fest are going fast at just under $150 through Ticketfly.

Single-day passes go on sale Wednesday, July 24 at 10:00am CST.
