Faye Hunter Dies
Faye Hunter, 59, bassist for ’80s band Let’s Active, died of an apparent suicide in Advance, N.C., July 20.
The band was part of a “rat pack” of progressive acts from the era – it was based in Winston-Salem alongside friends The dB’s and its guitarist was close friends with The Replacements’ Paul Westerberg.
Most of all, though, Let’s Active is known for its frontman, Mitch Easter, who produced R.E.M. s debut album, Murmur.

No other information was available at press time, although Hunter’s friend told the News Observer that she had “become physically worn down, very thin and having physical problems from the stress of working and caregiving (for her elderly mother).”
