Stabbing Near Lil Wayne Concert

Police say a 24-year-old Charlotte man was fatally stabbed during an argument after a Lil Wayne concert at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say James Warren Price was stabbed to death in the parking lot of the outdoor concert venue about 11:30 p.m. Friday. An unidentified woman received minor injuries.

Officer Jessica Lawrence says witnesses told police that Price and several men got into an argument, Price was stabbed, and the suspects drove off.

The rap concert featured Lil Wayne with T.I. and 2 Chainz.

The Charlotte Observer reports that Price’s death is believed to be the first killing at the north Charlotte concert site in its 22-year existence.

In 2003, a 26-year-old college student was electrocuted during a concert, but records show no other fatalities.
