DMX Files Chapter 11
DMX has made headlines again for something other than his music. The rapper filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection July 29, just days after his arrest on suspicion of DUI. Earl Simmons, aka DMX, says he has less than $50,000 in assets and is $1 million to $10 million in debt.
He owes $1.24 million in child support and more than $21,000 on an auto lease, among other obligations, according to the Wall Street Journal. His major asset is a 50 percent stake in a Mt. Kisco, N.Y., property.

A rep for DMX reportedly said DUI charges weren’t filed in the stop because he passed a breathalyzer test. However, he is also accused of driving without a valid driver’s license, according to the paper.
