The Hard Summer festival at  hit a low note when a concertgoer died of an apparent overdose.

A Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman told LA Weekly paramedics responded Aug. 3 to a call at the electronic dance music fest for a victim who “appeared to be in cardiac arrest.”

“A 25-year-old male was found unresponsive, pulseless and non-breathing at the venue by a team of veteran LAFD paramedics,” she said. “He was transported in grave condition to L.A. County-USC Medical Center.”

Paramedics reportedly transported two other fans to local hospitals for medical emergencies and treated more than 30 other concertgoers on site.

Promoter Live Nation acknowledged the incident, noting in a statement that “guests’ safety and well being is of paramount importance” at all events.

“We have skilled EMTs, police, and security staff deployed on site to respond to any emergency situation and last night members of this emergency team were with this patron and administering CPR within two minutes of notification. We work closely with local health and safety authorities to plan for emergencies and set the appropriate staffing levels for each event.”
