Festival Noize: Paul McCartney & Lady Gaga

Two festivals on either side of the Atlantic just announced some major additions to their lineups. It doesn’t get much bigger than Lady Gaga. Except maybe if you’re Paul McCartney. Mother Monster is headlining the while Macca plays .

Lady Gaga is kicking off the month-long iTunes Festival on Sept. 1.

The fest, which takes place at London’s Roundhouse, has booked a ridiculous amount of talent. Throughout September the venue will host Elton John, Kings Of Leon, Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Paramore, Jessie J, John Legend, Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake, Queens Of The Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, Jack Johnson and more.

Telling her U.K. Monsters to “get ready,” Gaga has promised to perform one hour of all new music. Her new album, ARTPOP, is due out Nov. 11, including the single “Applause,” which premiered Monday.

The last time Gaga took the stage was a Feb. 11 gig in Montreal. After doctors discovered a labral tear of her right hip, she canceled the remaining dates of her “Born This Way Ball.” She’s set to make her first live performance since the undergoing hip surgery at the MTV Video Music Awards Aug. 25.

To attend one of the iTunes Festival shows, you’ll need to win tickets. U.K. residents can win tickets via the iTunes Festival app and the iTunes store or through media partners including Channel 4, Global Radio and Metro. Fans residing in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Brazil, Europe, Japan and Mexico can win tix through contests held by the festival’s local media partners.
