Terraneo In Good Health

For an event that was reportedly in financial trouble a couple of months ago, Croatia’s Terraneo Festival appeared to be in good health with close to 13,000 per day in attendance Aug. 7-9.

In fact, the opening night with The Prodigy (and 15,000 people) broke Terraneo’s record for its biggest daily crowd.

In June it became clear the festival had dropped euro 1 million in its first two years. However, now owned by a private equity company with five stakeholders – including local promoter Mate Skugor – the event now claims it is free of debts to artists and suppliers from the first two editions.

The other acts helping to keep Terraneo’s boat afloat on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast at Šibenik included My Bloody Valentine, Aloe Blacc, Wu-Tang Clan, Calexico, The Cribs, Emiliana Torrini, and Gang Of Four.
