Neil Young & Crazy Horse Cancellations

That noise you’re hearing is the sound of fans weeping in Ontario, New York and Virginia as an injury forces an early end to the  Neil Young & Crazy Horse tour.  If it makes you feel any better you can blame it on guitarist Frank “Poncho” Sampredo.

Sampredo’s injured hand is the reason for the cancellations.  Earlier this month the tour took an unscheduled time out in Europe that was attributed to “an accident” involving a Crazy Horse member.  At that time Rolling Stone cited a “source close to the Young camp” as saying Sampredo had broken his hand.

Now Sampredo’s doctor is saying the guitarist’s hand needs more rest. Off the schedule are the tour’s last four shows – Dundas, Ontario, at the Aug. 31; Port Chester, N.Y., at The Capitol Theatre Sept 2; Ontario’s Sept. 4 and Arrington, Va., at the Sept. 7

“We are sorry for any inconvenience to our fans or the festivals where we were scheduled to appear. As you must be, we too are disappointed at this unfortunate turn of events.”

At this time Young & Crazy Horse are still scheduled to play Farm Aid in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Sept. 21.  Visit NeilYoung.com for more information.
