Honoring Tim Buckley

Tim Buckley’s legacy is alive and well in the Pacific Northwest this week as Jann Klose, Larry Beckett and Buckley’s original bassist Jim Fielder present shows in Portland and Seattle honoring the late, great singer/songwriter.

Klose has a special connection to Buckley.  He sang the artist’s songs in the 2012 film “Greetings From Tim Buckley,” which was about the days leading up to Jeff Buckley performing at a 1991 concert honoring his father.  Penn Badgley played Jeff Buckley.

Joining Klose will be Tim Buckley collaborator Larry Beckett. Klose met the lyricist/poet while working on the film and now the are two writing songs and performing together.

Meanwhile, Klose’s upcoming album, Mosaic, is available on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify.  “Greetings From Tim Buckley” will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Sept. 17.

Back to the gigs: Klose, Beckett and Fielder will play Portland’s The Secret Society tonight and Seattle’s Café Racer Aug. 24.  Jack McMahon opens in Portland.
